Biomathematics

Program

The aim of this course is the study of analytical and numerical methods of large application in the study of biological models. We highlight population models, dynamics of infectious diseases, pattern formation, nerve impulse transmission and the controlled liberation of medicines. The referred models are described by ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and integral-differential equations. The study of each model will be preceded by a brief description of the underlying biological phenomenon.
